Business Banquet
Business banquet serves as a way to build relations between the business partners in an informal fashion. During the meal, conversations on topics such as weather, sports, or cuisine are carried out between the guests and the hosts. In China, it is not customary to talk about family and privacy. Neither the host nor the guest brings their spouses to the business meal unless they are invited. Before eating, the Chinese host will seat the guest. The host often fills the guest's plates, and the guests are asked how the food tastes. During meal, cigarettes, wine and liquor are offered. Unlike Americans, Chinese are not accustomed to drink iced water during meal.
